Mess Free Finger Painting Project for Babies & Toddlers

Staying home all day long with a baby can sometimes seem like you’re living in the movie Groundhog’s Day.  Since babies thrive on routines, we pretty much following the same schedule every day.  As a mom, it can become monotonous.  The winter makes it extra challenging because it’s usually too cold to go for a walk and […]

Getting Back into the Grind: Tips for Starting and Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle

It’s been a little over three months since our beautiful little girl entered our lives! She is officially out of the newborn stage (how did that happen so fast?!) Now that a few months have passed, I think it’s about time to get back into the grind of working out and living a healthier lifestyle.

I’m the type of person who is all in or all out. I find it difficult to either JUST eat healthy or JUST workout. I think they go hand in hand. If I work out every day, but then eat like crap, I find that I don’t stick to my workout regimen for as long because I’m weighed down by my poor food choices, get lazy, and would rather sit on the couch eating snacks then putting on my workout clothes and going for a run. Likewise, if I eat healthy without ever exercising, I don’t see enough of an effect and often tend to indulge much more often than I would if I were eating healthy AND exercising.

Advice for the New Mom and Dad: Baby Shower Album

Now that I’m 30 (gasp!), I’m starting to go to a ton of baby showers, including my own! It’s always great to be able to have a keepsake of your special day that you can look at later and remember all of your wonderful guests and the beautiful shower that was thrown for you!

Advice-for-new-mom-and-dad—pink-and-grey-4x6One of the things that I loved having at my baby shower were these Advice for the New Mom and Dad cards. A Few of My Favorite Things: Baby Items I Didn’t Know I Needed

My husband and I have recently become new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl. While she’s only about 12 weeks right now, it’s been quite an adventure so far! More amazing than I could have ever imagined. But we definitely would have struggled a lot more had we not had some of these amazing products I’m about to tell you about.

When we found out that we were pregnant, we knew we had to register for baby items. However, one thing I realized while registering for a baby was that it’s a totally different experience than registering for a wedding. When we were selecting wedding registry items, we were essentially arbitrarily going around scanning gadgets that looked cool, some things we always wanted but didn’t want to pay for ourselves, nicer kitchen items, etc. You know what you want and what you need when you create a wedding registry. However, a baby registry for first time parents is a different ballgame entirely!

DIY Etched Glass Tutorial

Ok, so full disclosure… I bought some etching cream to etch some glass way back in December but I’ve been too nervous to try it until now. I’m not exactly sure what was holding me back.. I think I thought I was somehow going to mess it up in some way. But I got over my fear, cracked open the bottle, and etched away.. and I’m SO glad I did! It was WAY easier than I thought. I’m now addicted. :)

Homemade Sweet Potato Chips Recipe

I love chips. I love the saltiness. I love the crunch. I love that they’re the perfect side to a sandwich.
However, I try not to eat chips on a regular basis because, let’s face it, store bought chips don’t exactly help me stay in tune with my health and fitness goals. Therefore, I decided to make my own, healthier version. Enjoy!
